Local Students Named To Dean's List At Loyola University Maryland
Loyola University Maryland has announced the members of its spring 2015 Dean's List. In order to qualify for the Dean's List at Loyola, a student must achieve a minimum QPA of at least 3.500 for the term, provided that, in the term they have successfully completed courses totaling a minimum of 15 credits.

Tomie dePaola Whitebird Paper Award Recipient
Each year, Tomie dePaolo, internationally renowned author and artist, former Colby-Sawyer faculty member and long-time supporter of the Fine and Performing Arts Department, chooses high-grade artist papers from his own studio-paper collection to be awarded to deserving student artists. This year 13 students were recognized with the Whitebird Award for their work in ceramics, drawing, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, watercolor and mixed-media.

University of Scranton students participated in alternative spring break service trips in March that allowed them to work with the homeless, former gang members, children with disabilities, and others in need through service agencies throughout the country.

National Model United Nations Conference
11 students represented Chile at a week-long National Model United Nations conference in New York. To role play as Chilean diplomats, they spent a semester researching Chile's position on a variety of international issues. While in New York, the student diplomats also visited the United Nations, meeting U.N. officials and gaining deeper insight on regional conflicts, peacekeeping, human rights, women and children, economic & social development, and the environment.
